What Does God Say About Teaching Our Children?

What does God say about teaching your kids?

He says DO IT over and over again we find that we as parents are told to instruct our children by God in His word!

Let’s look at verses where He does:

WHEN should we be teaching them?

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.     DEUTERONOMY 6:6-7

When do we find here we be teaching them?…All the time!!

WHAT does He want us to teach them?

To love Him and to remember His works, words and ways:

Give ear, O my people, to my law;
Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
 I will open my mouth in a parable;
I will utter dark sayings of old,
 Which we have heard and known,
And our fathers have told us.
 We will not hide them from their children,
Telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord,
And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.

 For He established a testimony in Jacob,
And appointed a law in Israel,
Which He commanded our fathers,
That they should make them known to their children;
 That the generation to come might know them,
The children who would be born,
That they may arise and declare them to their children,
 That they may set their hope in God,
And not forget the works of God… Psalm 78:1-7

WHY do we teach our kids about God and His ways?    That THEY MAY PUT THEIR HOPE  AND CONFIDENCE IN HIM….

 There is nothing more important for them to learn than this!

If your kids don’t learn anything but this, you will be a successful parent…TO KNOW, LOVE AND TRUST GOD!

We see WHAT God says we’re to teach our kids, WHEN we’re to teach them and WHY
